What did we do?
For this project, we decided to interview an older member of our family about where they came from. With this interview, we typed a transcript and wrote short stories based on what we learned.
I decided to write about and interview my grandmother, whom I call Mima. Like mentioned on the before project, she came from Montreal, Canada, and the short-story takes place in an airport there.
Below is a short snippet of the beginning from my first draft, and the second is a snippet from my final draft.

We also took a picture of our family member that we wrote about and photoshopped a short part of our story or interview onto it.
Mima let me borrow a picture of her from a Halloween a few years after I was born.

This project was definitely tougher than the last. I knew immediately I would interview my grandmother, but when it came down to it, I had absolutely no idea what I would ask her. I got really nervous to interview her because I knew she was kind of silly. In fact, I was so nervous to do it, I did it last minute in the car on the way to school. At least I got it in on time, right? When I found out other people would be reading the transcript of our interview, I felt like so much pressure was on me that I wanted to barf... In the end, I think everything came out okay.
I'm really proud of my writing and how it turned out. The first draft was really crisp and hardy, but the final came out smooth! Here is a link to all of my drafts of writing:
